Kerri's house was a quiet little house in the middle of no where. Her taste is really simple. She likes bright colours and an open feeling. She loves the house as she has worked hard to get it and keep it. With finances being tight between a mortgage and rent, its nothing extravagant. There are many wards put up around the house, so bad guys beware.

Kerrighan apparated them onto the road in front of her house. It was fairly dark out, so it was kind of hard to see her house against the backdrop of trees. The lights on the driveway up to the house were on and so she lead Franco up to her house.

Tapping her wand three times on the door, muttering a specific spell, the lock clicked open. She turned the knob and took her shoes off as she came in. "Now, its nothing much, but its my home." She told him with a smile, waving him in. "You're welcome to make yourself at home as long as the shoes come off, just a personal preference, but yeah. Explore, do as you'd like, and I'll go make some coffee."

She went into the cozy little kitchen and pulled out an actual coffee maker rather than her usual percolator. She didn't have too many guests, so she just made a lot of coffee. She enjoyed the conversation they were having, so she was eager to continue it.

Franco tried to take in as many surroundings as he could once Kerri had apparated them to her home, but found it somewhat difficult considering the lack of light. He was able to notice however that the whole scenery, what he could see anyways, wasn't familiar at all. "This isn't England is it?" Or maybe it was and he had just made a bit of a fool of himself.

Franco walked in after Kerri, taking his shoes off as well and leaving them near the door. With a smile and a nod, Franco walked around a bit, examing the room at the house in general. It had a very homey, cottage feeling to it. "You have a very lovely home." He called out to her from the living room while he was on his way to the kitchen. Once he did he merely just leaned against the door way before commenting yet again, You have very good taste."

She smiled and shook her head. "No, we're in rural Scotland, not too far from where I grew up actually. I like to have my privacy, and this allows for it. I of course don't spend lots of time here, because if I did, it would probably look like my office." She laughed.

When Fraco stood in the doorway, she hopped up and sat on the counter. "Why thank you, it took a while to get it the way I wanted it. I don't have plans to leave for a long time, so I wanted to make sure that what I had was something I could express myself in. And because I live alone, I can wake up one morning and decide that I want my living room to be fushia, and by the afternoon it will be the colour of my choice." She smiled, that's what she liked about having the house.

"I jsut tried to remain neutral. So I can tell you're not from here, I guess from Spain or Portual, right? Tell me a little more about yourself." She requested as she leaned back against her cupboards.

Ah, Scotland. Somehow he had managed to completely skip Scotland on his and Brad's trip around the world. He didn't actually understand why he had, maybe there had been too many things going on at once for him to be able to catch every single flaw and mistake that had been made. Oh well, no use crying over spilled milk. He would just have to visit Scotland, more thoroughly, on another day.

"Fuschia?" He asked a bit amused as he pushed himself off the doorway with his shoulder and walking more in the room, "For a living room? It could work. . ." His lips still quirked in amusement.

"You're correct, I am from Spain." He was a bit hesitant to talk about himself because after all he didn't exactly how to answer the request. "Well I'm a writer, as you already know. I have four brothers, I enjoy horseback riding, I'm currently just. . .trying to figure out who I am, actually."

She shrugged, pink wasn't one of her favourite colours, but perhaps with the furniture if could work. "Perhaps, maybe one day I will find out if I wake up with such a whim." She smiled again, it was really easy to talk to Franco.

"Four?! I have one, and I think that's enough..." She tried to cheer him up, he looked odd, like he didn't know what to say. "Well I hope you find yourself." She told him, watching how he moved, his facial expressions and she noticed that he really didn't know himself. "Do you have horses?" She asked, trying to make the hopefulness in her voice.

"Yes, four." He chuckled a bit, just remembering all their antics when they were growing up. Hey, even some of their antics right now. "I'm the middle child. They all still live in Spain." Not in their parent's house however they did visit very often. He was pretty sure their mother would throw an absolute fit if they didn't keep in touch. Hadn't he had his ear chewed off by his mother because he hadn't responded about his birthday? In fact, even on his trip around the world he had to check in frequently with her. His mother had withdrawal issues.

"I do, back home. Quite a few of them, but I haven't been home in a while." He shrugged but then grinned at her and asked, "What about you? What do you do when you're not writing controversial books?"

Grimacing, she giggled a bit. "Ouch... five boys, ah well middle isn't so bad, most of the time the older ones will look over you to torture the younger ones... Again, my parents just had my brother and I, and they had their hands full with me." She wasn't prod of how she acted, but there had been a lot that went on in her life that affected how she acted.

"When I was little, my papa used to tell me about Hogwarts as we drove around his farm on the tractor. Now, I just like my seclusion. It gives me a lot of time to reflect on my life. I have lots of notebooks and journals filled with writing that has nothing to do with my opinions, and then I like to read." She was pretty placid mentioning the notebooks. They documented the good and the bad in her life, they started from when her grandparents died until now.

"I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm not generally a sociable person, not too many people like me, who would have thought, right?" She smirked, none of that mattered, she didn't feel like she needed a friend, rarely did she ever feel truly lonely, but whatever happened from tonight on, she felt like she now had someone to talk to on those occasions. "But that doesn't really bother me, I've learned that to avoid disappointment, you rely on yourself and only yourself. Not parents, not siblings, no one because the minute you do, poof... they're gone." It was a point of view she had since she was 8, but that was the last time she had allowed ehrself to be disappointed.

"More like the younger ones tortured the older ones." He grinned, partially because of her giggle, and partially because of the ongoing flow of memories going through his mind at that moment. "Twins actually, youngest and definitely the troublemakers of the group. But it was fun, we we're all definitely a couple of handfuls." They still were. Nightclub owners, chef/painter, black market dealer (which he completely disagreed with) and writer. Yes, they were still a definite handful. Merlin, he missed them.

"So you attended Hogwarts? I was homeschooled, the only one of my brothers to do so. So I'm right with you on the not sociable person." He tried his best, usually he depended on whatever he would pick up by reading novels. Which notably didn't work most of the time; it just allowed him to somehow mimic it so he would be able to write about it.

"I can agree with you about that, it's tough to have something there and then. . .gone the next. But it's one thing to rely on and trust someone and another thing to just simply enjoy their company. Living in the moment and what not."

She enjoyed having Franco around, he was good company. "Your family sounds like they'd be fun to hang out with..." She mused idly. "Yeah, my brother is in his fifth year of Hogwarts. We had no choice to go. My grandparents died after my brother was born, and my parents aren't responsible enough to home school us. That, and my mother is a muggle. Like my parents helped me get this place ready to move in, but that's probably the last time I've seen them since I moved out of my mum's parent's place, and I more than likely won't see them until Christmas, if even then." she admitted. She didn't see them last Christmas, they just upped and went to Hogsmeade and spent Christmas with her brother without so much as a notice to her.

Her and her parents had a bad relationship, Kerri felt like her presence was often unwelcome, she was the bastard child that took away her mother's childhood, as she was reminded a couple times when she was younger. Nothing was enough to impress them. Thom was a little easier on her than Nina was, but it was no secret Keith was the child they wanted.

She hadn't heard the first part of the last thing he said, only catching the "living in the moment." part. "I live in my own head a lot, sometimes its good, sometimes its not. I don't have much going for myself other than my book, and that came to a stand still, so I have to try and get back into journalism, go back to what I was taught about impartiality and objectiveness. Write something good, maybe then I can come back to the book and bring something to it." She admitted. Franco was so far the first person she found that she lowered her guard to. Not once in her life had she ever felt so vulnerable with someone, but she found it nice to let a lot of weight off her chest.

"They're fun. . .in small doses." He chuckled under his breath, and shook his head while he listened to Kerri telling him about her family. He thought about how odd this must be, disclosing personal information to someone they had just barely met. Yet somehow, it didn't bother him, and since it didn't bother her, apparently, then it wasn't a thing to worry about. So he didn't, and moved on.

"So basically you got left behind in the dust?" At least, that's how he was perceiving it. He wanted to be wrong, of course, but he also felt like she hadn't made that fact obvious at all, so he also felt slightly guilty, "Forgive me if I'm being too forward."

"That sounds like a brilliant game plan." He nodded along, approving of it. "I live in my own little reality sometimes, not as often as I used to but it's still nice to go there once in a while, escape."

She smiled when he talked about his family, he seemed to really love them, that was awesome. But he hit the nail on the head for her life. "Yeah, basically. Lots of details in there that are neither relevant or pleasant, and you're not being forward. Buddy, I asked you to come to my house for coffee and we have known each other for about an hour..." She shook her head and laughed.

She slipped off the counter and grabbed two large mugs from the cupboard where she rested her back. Filling both cups three-quarters of the way full she handed one to Franco and rested hers on the island. Going to the fridge she pulled out a small jug of milk and then slid the sugar bowl from the sland closer to Franco.

"Well the bills have to get paid unfortunately, so I can't sit idly." She looked out her back window briefly then turned on the back light to the house and saw a deer eating her beanstalks. She sighed and opened her back door to scare it off.

"Guess I know what has to be done tomorrow..." She smiled, meaning she would have to go pick all her vegetables in her garden.

Franco grinned and laughed along with her at the sentiment. "Alright, true. I was a bit surprised you did, but pleasantly so."Yes, they had only known each other for that limited amount of time but it really didn't matter; they were enjoying themselves. At least, he knew he was enjoying himself with the conversation. After a month of not being in his body, pretending to be someone he was not, and added to the stress of problems that weren't even his to begin with, it was a nice change.

Franco took the coffee mug with a small thank you, adding a couple of spoonfuls of sugar to it, he didn't ever put milk in his coffee. After he stirred he took a small sip of it, careful not to burn his tongue or the roof of his mouth in the process. He looked on with slight interested at the deer, it seemed so. . .surreal. Granted, his family owned a ranch but to be met with a woodland creature so near the actual house was. . .well, like he had said, surreal.

"I'm going to be honest, I'm half expecting seven dwarfs to show up pretty soon." He grinned slightly to show his amusement. Instead of a princess living in a modern world, it was a modern woman, living in a fairty-tale like cottage.

When her back was turned to him, she listened and ended up blushing that he was pleasantly surprised at her forwardness, that was good, right? "Well maybe I'll have to be spontaneous more often, or at least get myself banned from more places..." She laughed, it didn't bug her all that much anymore because it was bound to happen.

"No, I keep them locked up really well in the basement." She winked at Franco and laughed, of course it was a joke. "Sure its nice to look at, but this is the first time I've had a garden, and that took all spring to do, annnnnd I won't have any beans or peas by tomorrow, and I don't fancy going out there now. Though if you want to see enchanting, sometimes the nearest farmer's cows get loose and they end up on ym front lawn and I often get a rather attractive stable boy cleaning up the byproducts they leave behind." She really was having fun. She waved Franco forward as she walked into the living room and sat down on her couch.

"I'm sure you'll write another controversial editorial that will get you banned from other places, I'm sure." He laughed a bit, joking of course. He didn't mean it offensively at all, in fact, in a very weird and odd way, he meant it as a compliment. He had certainly never written something that had gotten that much of a reaction in any way. . .Well there was one time where a multitude of women just lunged themselves at him shortly after the publication of his novel in Spain but it wasn't the same. Kerri, he was sure, hadn't sustained bodily injury.

"Ah, no wonder." He continued along with the joke after laughing briefly about it. "I haven't taken care of any kind of vegetation or plant in such a long time, I'm pretty sure if I tried said plant would surely die in a matter of days." He chuckled, shaking his head- he was serious about that. He and Brad didn't have any living house plants in their flat because he knew Brad would have been living by himself for too long and would not have taken care of it under any circumstances. Pft, and he wanted to raise a child, honestly.

"I'll pass on the stable boy, thanks." He laughed a bit, and continued, "Besides, I much rather look at you." He said while following her and sitting at the couch, small grin still in place.

Laughing with Franco, she had to admit, he was right, but his tone, she could tell wasn't intending to be offensive. She was having troubles figuring him out, not that she didn't mind. She just enjoyed talking to him. "Well where should I get banned from next? Madam Maulkin's, so I end up taking exhibitionism as a hobby?" She asked idly, only guessing the answer she'd get.

"Well, they are quite helpful. I feed them, they do my gardening, tend to my house, all the good stuff." She tried to be serious, but it was hard to. "Oh come on, a plant is easier than a child. You water them every couple days, feed it once a month, give it some sunlight if it needs, and poof, its ready." She told him, pulling her knees to her and rested her chin on them. "With a kid or a pet, you have the daily feeding thing, changin them, walking them, playing with them. Not to say I don't love animals, I just am hardly ever here to take care of one... Plants for me were idiot proof." She smiled again, she couldn't stop smiling.

Though when Franco mentioned how he'd rather look at her, she covered her face, knowing she'd blushed and she giggled. "Well, you're in tough competition with the stable boy, after all you're all dolled up and he usually isn't..." She laughed, but she was liking him more and more that they talked.

"Now that would be a sight." He laughed and winked at her but left it at that. There was still the fact that they hadn't known each other for very long and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable with his. . .'guyness'. He really needed to get out more, any more moments of him keeping himself locked up in a room and he would sure stop functioning altogether.

"Well I know that much." He chuckled, "I'm actually really good with children, if I do say so myself. And I do." He grinned, completely failing at being modest. He had three nephews, one niece. He was pretty adept at taking care of children. Plants. . .well he used to be able to take care of them pretty easily. Now he wasn't sure.

He laughed at the comment about the stable boy. Interesting. "Now Kerri, if you want me to take off my shirt all you have to do is ask."

Pretty sure her whole face was red, kerri looked away for a few moments. "I am sure it would. I don't know, you don't seem like a guy that's all into the female anatomy..." She stated, trying not to smile at her jab. He made lots of innuendos and comments about her, and he was really friendly, there was no doubt he was really interested in the female anatomy. "Or at least mine." She felt like clarifying, just in case he took her too seriously.

Rolling her eyes, she laughed. "Oh the modesty, Franco, you really should own up to more of your talents..." She told him, sarcasm dripping on every word.

If her face wasn't red at his suggestion at her becoming an exhibitionist, then the next comment surely did it. it wasn't that she didn't want to see it, she was sure she'd be pleased with what was under his shirt, but she didn't know if it was exactly appropriate to have a man you've barely met take off his clothes in your house.

A hand went over his heart in fake pain as he groaned slightly before explaining, "Your words are so cutting, so fierce, they wound me." He laughed and shook his head before taking another, more hearty sip of the coffee now that he was sure it wouldn't burn off the insides of his mouth. He shook his head, disbelieving that woman had the constant tendency of putting themselves down. "You're wrong." And he just left it at that. He thought he was being pretty clear.

"I back up all my talents with proof, of course." He laughed jokingly at her sarcastic attitude and her blush. Right, so maybe that was the limit right there. But, he still couldn't help but to joke, "No? Another time." He laughed a bit, joking of course.

Laughing, she turned on the couch so she was facing her guest. "Oh yes, I am well known and hated for such hurtful and spiteful comments." She winked. However she froze when Franco said she was wrong about him liking her body. She never expected that, she just didn't think that she was the kind of girl she'd be into. She found him attractive, but she plainly assumed he was just being playful and friendly. "I bet I am, and I don't like being wrong." She told him, feeling her face get cooler, hopefully meaning her blush went away.

"I bet you can, so you will have to prove it to me, I am one of those girls that believes it when she sees it." She cocked an eyebrow, she didn't mean to dare him or challenege him, but she was pretty sure that's how it came out. But when he said another time, without really thinking, she nodded, oops.
